RSVP Today! WRA To Host Joint Revenue Committee Reception in Cheyenne

The Wyoming Retail Association will host the Legislative Joint Revenue Committee for a reception at the Nagle Warren Mansion in Cheyenne on Monday, December 4, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The Joint Revenue Committee has been tasked with generating three separate proposals this interim to help offset the $400 million shortfall for education funding in Wyoming. The committee intends to draft comprehensive plans that generate $100 million, $200 million and $300 million between now and the start of the 2018 Budget Session.
  
 

 

WRA November 2017 Legislative Update

The Wyoming Retail Association monitors and engages in all business related legislative issues at the state and federal level, to protect and promote Wyoming’s retail industry. As Wyoming continues to grapple with a $400 million education-funding deficit, the Wyoming Legislature will continue to explore all options to offset the shortfall. Your association is monitoring and participating in these discussions as we head towards the 2018 Legislative Budget Session, set to convene on February 12, 2018.

More than 164 million to shop over weekend

WASHINGTON, November 14, 2017 – The biggest shopping weekend of the year is right around the corner and 69 percent of Americans — an estimated 164 million people — are planning to shop or considering shopping during Thanksgiving weekend, according to the annual survey released today by the National Retail Federation and Prosper Insights & Analytics. For the first time in survey history, the numbers include Cyber Monday in addition to Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Sunday.

WASHINGTON, November 17, 2017 – Organized retail crime is continuing to grow, with 67 percent of retailers surveyed reporting an increase in the past year, according to the 13th annual ORC study released today by the National Retail Federation.
