WRA Hosts Congressional Candidates at 2016 Retail Summit

Last week the Wyoming Retail Association hosted three of the republican candidates running for Wyoming’s lone U.S House of Representatives seat at our annual Retail Summit. WRA in DC to Receive Award and Promote Critical Retail Issues

Last month, long time WRA board member and past president Rob Monroe, owner of Nate’s Flowers in Casper and WRA Executive Director Chris Brown spent a few days in our Nation’s Capital to discuss federal issues critical to the success of Wyoming’s retailers. Monroe also was recognized as one of “America’s Retail Champions” by the National Retail Federation for his long-standing efforts in advocating on behalf of Wyoming’s retailers.  Read More »

WRA Legislative Update - June 2016

The 2016 Legislative Budget Session concluded in March and the various committees will continue to meet throughout the interim between now and the start of the 2017 General Session. Declining revenues from the state’s energy industry continue to force Wyoming’s lawmakers to re-evaluate the state’s biennium budget and the upcoming election is sure to shake things up at both the state and federal level. WRA Offers Members a New Credit Card Processing Option

The Wyoming Retail Association now offers a new, expert merchant processing program that will provide members with greater savings on their credit and debit card transactions. The new program offers low rates and, unlike other processors, doesn’t advertise misleading teaser rates or tack on hidden costs or fees. WRA’s processing also provides many free services, including free supplies, free customer service and voice authorization calls, free set-up and programming, and no chargeback fees.  Read More »

Tell Congress to Hit "PAUSE" on Drastic Overtime Rules

The Department of Labor has issued what it’s calling the “final” version of new regulations that would dramatically expand the number of workers eligible for overtime. But that doesn’t mean the fight is over. Instead, it’s time for retailers to call their members of Congress and tell them this misguided plan is a career killer that will drive up administrative costs for employers while resulting in few benefits for most workers.   Read More »

Small Business Refinance Program Made Permanent

Eligible small business owners now have more options to refinance eligible fixed assets and business expenses through the Small Business Administration 504 Refinance Program. SBA Administrator Maria Contreras-Sweet made the program permanent through an Interim Final Rule in The Federal Register released May 26. This change will help small business owners ease their financial burdens and create incentives for potential expansion and further job creation.  Read More »
